Transport de bateau en flat rack sur cargo

How do you transport a boat… on a boat?

Transporting a yacht, too small to brave the oceans, too big to fit into a shipping container, is possible! Take this sun top, for example, flat-racked on a cargo ship.

This Axopar 29 Sun Top set sail from Fos-sur-Mer “in cargo class”, bound for Port Louis (Mauritius).

In fact, a yacht of this size does not fit into a conventional container: this is what we call “out of gauge” (OOG).

The operation involved removal by off-gauge specialists at Port Grimaud, pre-carriage by low-bed truck to the Fos terminal, stuffing, wedging, gripping and securing on a flat rack according to the shipowner’s requirements, then loading and departure on cargo for a 21 to 24-day crossing.

Our teams monitor operations at every load break (loading, unloading, stuffing).

Congratulations to our specialists for this operation, and thanks to our partner OMA Group in Africa, from the X2 Logistics network !
