Out of Gauge transport: PushBack

OOG transport: a pushback for Manila

Beautiful shots of the latest "Out of Gauge" operation carried out by CDG's MATHEZ FREIGHT agency.

Our MATHEZ FREIGHT agency in Paris CDG handled the transport of this airport tractor to Manila in the Philippines: a 28-tonne “baby”!

A “pushback” is an airport tractor used to tow aircrafts from their parking position to their departure position, using a towbar.

This is “Out of Gauge” -OOG) transport, meaning that it exceeds in width, height, length or weight what can be accommodated in a standard container: these unusually shaped cargoes require special equipment to handle them for sea transport. The tractor is secured and strapped to a “flat” container before being loaded onto a cargo ship to reach its destination.

This complex operation called on the expertise and know-how of our teams and partners, to ensure smooth delivery.
